Sports

Shrewsbury High School offers the same number of sports as most high schools, if not more. In the fall the sports offered are: football, cross country, crew, golf, volleyball, field hockey, and soccer. In the Winter the sports offered are: basketball, track and field, swim, ice hockey, and gymnastics. In the spring the offered sports are: lacrosse, baseball, softball, track and field, crew, and tennis. For the boys' basketball games and football games the SHS Pep Band attends, headed by Mr. Brian Liporto, as well as the majority of the student body. Shrewsbury High School offers the unique opportunity where if a sport is not offered, it can be created as a club then, eventually, if popular, can become a sport with proper support.

The school also received the PEP Grant and has fleshed out the classes the school offers in its physical education programs. The new programs include biking and a ropes course.

Shrewsbury is home to a Massachusetts Division III high school hockey powerhouse. The boys hockey team has won two state championships in the last four years (2014 and 2017). The boys beat Hanover in 2014 and Old Rochester High School in 2017.
